Plasma is the fourth state of matter different from solid, liquid and gas. It is composed of a collection of ions, electrons and unionized neutral particles, and the overall state of matter is neutral
There are a lot of active particles in the low temperature plasma which can excite, ionize or break the bond of the reactant molecules. It will not cause the pyrolysis or ablation of the treated material, so it has a unique application value on the surface of modified polymer materials. High temperature plasma
When the electron temperature and ion temperature in the plasma are equal, the system temperature can reach tens of thousands of degrees, also known as high temperature plasma. Stars in the universe are constantly emitting hot plasma.
Low temperature plasma
The plasma is non-equilibrium when the electron temperature is much higher than the ion temperature. The electron temperature can reach tens of thousands of degrees, while the temperature of ions and neutral particles can be as low as room temperature, so the whole system is very low temperature, known as low temperature plasma. Generally, the plasma produced by gas discharge belongs to low temperature plasma.
